MXTS - A Multi Channel DVB Audio Coder
MXTS – combines MPEG coding and multiplexing for audio broadcast over DVB networks.
The MXTS is a multi-channel adapter, which is based on the concept of the XTS, the MPEG audio to DVB convertor. The MXTS system accepts 10 baseband or 10 MPEG encoded programme signals. These 10 stereo programmes are DVB encoded and then combined into a single Transport Stream, compliant with standard DVB multiplexers and modulators. To meet the requirements of DVB network providers, who often encounter mixed environments i.e. signals generated either locally or remotely, the MXTS has different versions.
- MXTS-X for MPEG coded stereo programmes (X.21 interfaces)
- MXTS-A for analogue and digital audio signals
Applications
- distribution of audio signals over satellite, terrestrial DVB-T distribution and multi- channel provision in CATV headends.
- Audio Broadcast Distribution
- Contribution from remote and local audio sources
- Multi-channel STL
- Back-up of FM networks over satellite
- To feed local audio programmes into CATV headends
