MXTS - A Multi-Programme DVB Audio Codec

MXTS – combines MPEG coding and multiplexing for audio broadcast over DVB
networks.

The new multi-channel /multi-programme system, MXTS, greatly simplifies the distribution of audio programmes over DVB networks. Each system consists of a multiplexer and a variable number of encoders or converters built into a 19” subrack. These encoders/convertors are separate interface modules, which can either encode analogue or digital audio or convert MPEG coded audio or even a multi-channel signal such as Dolby Digital into an ASI compliant stream. Up to 10 stereo programmes can be processed in one 19” subrack, which also contains a controller and redundant power supply. The MXTS output signal is available both as DVB/ASI signal or G.703 signal for E1 links.
MXTS is a universal system for a wide range of applications: The MXTS supplies households with a signal over DVB satellites, it can feed FM transmitters with programmes accompanied by RDS data and it allows broadcasters to replace ADR satellite applications.
