WLR302/402: Broadband true diversity receiverWLR302/402: Broadband true diversity receiverThe WLRX is a multiband receiver system designed to operate either in the UHF-band using the WLR402 module or the VHF band using the WLR302 module. The use of a dbx(™) companding-system ensures excellent audio quality. To make the receiver ‘true diversity’ a second receiver front-end and IF-stage can be added. This eliminates so called ‘dead spots’, which are present when mobile transmitters generate indirect signals. The antenna-amplifier compensates for cable loss if the antenna cabling is too long.
The WLRX multiband receiver system is a 19”rack system (1HE) which can contain two receiver modules. As this system is modular, modules with differing functionality can be deployed at the same time. The following modules are available and can be used in combination with each other:
WLR302: VHF receiver module in single execution for point-to-point applications (also in stereo) and in true diversity execution for portable reporter purposes. This module is broadband and encompasses the entire VHF spectrum from 170 to 216 MHz with a 50MHz switching bandwidth. WLR402: UHF receiver module in single execution for point-to-point applications (also in stereo) and in true diversity execution for portable reporter purposes. This module operates in the UHF band from 550 to 900 MHz, with a 30 MHz switching bandwidth. The standard compander system ensures excellent audio quality. Each module consists of a 10 step LED bar for RF field strength and a 10 step LED bar for the audio level and can be extended with a number of options. See the technical specifications. The headphones output allows direct monitoring of the received signal. Settings such as frequency, mute or level can be defined per module. All pre-selects of varying parameters can be stored in one of the 32 user pre-sets. On the rear of the unit a RS232 data connection is available to operate and monitor the WLRX system remotely.
